In rescuing people in the earthquake hit areas, moving cases are happening every day.
In Dujiangyan, on 16th, more than 70 hours after the earthquake, the rescue team found a living girl buried under the debris. During people are trying to rescue her, the 22-year-old girl, named Liu Lehui, stay very calm and even try to south the rescue team. She said: ¡°Don¡¯t worry; I can protect myself inside here. I know you will come to save me, so I save my strength to shout for help and sustain hunger and thirsty. I have been waiting for you. I am still alive. It is so good.¡±

Beichuan is one of the most seriously damaged areas in the earthquake, one of the local middle schools, Beichuan Middle School was a five-floor building. It collapsed immediately in the earthquake and a mountain just beside slides over it. Many students were dead. A lot of dead students found have lost their parents, so no one reclaim them. Also since rescuing people number is limited for traffic barrier and rescuing job is overwhelming, dead students have not been buried. Many dead bodies are left on the playground. Books and shoes shatter in the debris. The temperature in Sichuan now is between 22 to 29 degree centigrade. Dead bodies have rotten giving off a strong smell.

In Yingxiu, Wenchuan County, center of the earthquake, most of the buildings collapsed including the Four-floor local primary school with 470 students. Less than 100 survived while many buried under the debris. Up to today, there are still students who have not been digged out. Many parents wait around the collapsed building wishing for miracles. A father, who was waiting beside, said he rushed to the school a few minutes after the earthquake, but he just saw ruins. He hasn¡¯t found his daughter yet. He said there are many screaming and groan under the building the first day after the earthquake and much less on the second day. Now there is already no voice at all.
In Longjum, Shenfang, the Center School was also collapsed. Li Fang is a twelve-year-old girl student who managed to rush out the building before it fell down. She said with terror that she saw her classmates just drop down from the third floor all of a sudden. She would never dare to study in a building anymore!
Now it is already more than 100 hour after the earthquake. People working in the earthquake hit areas are still trying to search for living people. Miraculously there are some found alive and rescued, but more and more people found are dead. ?Almost around all the seriously earthquake-hit areas, there is strong smell of dead bodies. People there begin to worry about epidemic diseases. In Longju Village, Shenfang, when people found fish, though hungry, they always put the fish in the water to check whether they are alive or not before they dare to eat them.

I have been photographing and recording all these days. I was so tired that I am in a fever. Many rescuing members and volunteers are exhausted too because of unstopped work. When I saw so many dead students¡¯ bodies lying on the ground, I can not help shedding tears, but just then,(16:30 this afternoon) I see water flows beneath my feet, and then I heard people shouting the dammed lake on the mountain just beside us is collapsing. I, including other rescuing members rush away as soon as possible.

In this earthquake, Chinese people form a strong unity. On 13th in Chendu, capital of Sichuan province, there are more than 500 taxis driving to serious damaged areas voluntarily to get injured people back to Chengdu for medical treatment. There are also many citizens driving to send food, water and clothes to people. ?
Hundreds of thousands of people lost their home and possessions in the earthquake, but they show formidable courage in front of the disaster. They said it is so lucky to be alive which is far precious than any possessions. As long as they have life, they can create all the possessions again.
